Announcing the Winter 2024 Savilla Pitt Fellowship Recipient: Raquel Romano

  • Article Published April 4, 2024

We are delighted to announce that Raquel Romano has been selected as the Savilla Pitt Memorial Fellow from the Winter 2024 Tech Executive Leadership Initiative (TELI) class. The Aspen Tech Policy Hub and Aspen Digital present the Savilla Pitt Memorial Fellowship to a member of each Hub cohort who exemplifies the selflessness and generosity of spirit of the late Savilla Pitt.

Raquel’s kindness and giving nature reflect the core of what Savilla Pitt stands for. According to Raquel’s TELI peers, she has always “found ways to make things easier or move things along with a positive attitude and humility.”

Raquel’s professional background is in engineering and computer science. She has held engineering positions at Fora, United States Digital Services, and Google. She is also a founding member of Latinas in Computing and is an advocate for individuals entering the computing field through non-traditional paths.

The Savilla Pitt Memorial Fellowship pays tribute to Savilla Pitt, the first Aspen Tech Policy Hub employee and a core member of Aspen Digital, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2021. Savilla played a vital role in launching the Hub program, and more importantly, she was a dear friend. Once again, congratulations to Raquel!
