Announcing Our Cyber Civic Engagement Training Series

It’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and we’re excited to announce that our Cyber Civic Engagement series, created in partnership It’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and we’re excited to announce that our Cyber Civic Engagement series, created in partnership with craig newmark philanthropies, is officially open for registration. Cyber Civic Engagement is a new virtual, free training program designed to teach people, regardless of their technical aptitude, how to advocate for stronger cybersecurity in their own communities.

Whether you want your public library to install secure Wi-Fi, your kid’s school board to adopt policies that protect student data privacy, or your local police department to learn about proper cybercrime reporting — this course will give you the skills necessary to advocate and improve cybersafety in your community.

The first two training sessions will be held:

Participants who attend a training session will be considered for 1-on-1 coaching from Academy staff on a cybersecurity-related policy project of their choice. For more information on the training sessions, 1-on-1 coaching sweepstakes, and other details, please see here.
