Announcing the Hub Instructors

The Aspen Institute’s Tech Policy Hub is thrilled to announce that we have added 13 experienced policymakers as instructors for future cohorts. These instructors, selected from our Summer 2023 Train the Trainer program, will be critical teachers of Hub curricula for our programs geared toward helping organizations and individuals make a lasting impact on public policy.

The Summer 2023 Aspen Tech Policy Hub cohort of instructors are:

  • Krista Canellakis, Digital Delivery Program Lead at U.S. Digital Response; former Deputy Secretary, General Services at the State of California’s Government Operations Agency and Chief Innovation Officer for the City and County of San Francisco
  • Sara Collins, Senior Policy Counsel at Public Knowledge; former Policy Counsel at Future of Privacy Forum and Legal Director of Veterans Education Success
  • Caitriona Fitzgerald, Deputy Director of the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC); former Chief of Staff and General Counsel to Massachusetts State Senator Barry Finegold
  • Ross Gillfillan, Independent Communications and Policy Consultant; former Director of Strategic Communications and a Senior Policy Advisor for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy
  • Alexander Hall, Public Affairs Specialist at Waymo; former Stakeholder Engagement Professional at Airbnb, Postmates, and Robinhood
  • Adrienne Goss, Senior Research Associate at Atlanta Public Schools; former Associate Professor of Education and Social Policy and Founding Director of the Social Policy Hub for Equity Research in Education (SPHERE) at Rhode Island College
  • Henry L. Greenidge, Esq, Executive Vice President at Tusk Holdings; former Head of Government Affairs on the East Coast for GM Cruise and Head of Public Affairs for REEF Technology
  • Nikki Love Kingman, Public Policy Advocate and Educator; former Executive Director of Common Cause Hawaii and Director of Public Policy for the Hawaii Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations
  • Chelsea Magnant, Cybersecurity Policy Manager at Google; former Policy Strategist at Google and CIA analyst
  • Brandie Nonnecke, Director of the CITRIS Policy Lab and an Associate Research Professor at the Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley; former Technology and Human Rights Fellow at the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy
  • Rebecca Peters, International Water Policy Advisor in Washington, DC; former ​​Academy Fellow at Chatham House in London, UK, and Researcher at the Asian International Rivers Center in Kunming, China
  • Katelyn Ringrose, Global Policy Lead for Law Enforcement and Government Access at Google; former Legal Fellow at the Future of Privacy Forum
  • Sharon Zezima, an independent Policy Advisor for organizations, including PolicyLink; formerly held senior legal, policy, and business development roles at Acoustic, Pax Labs, GoPro, and Electronic Arts

The instructors completed two virtual week-long training courses and are now equipped to teach crucial advocacy, public speaking, and policy writing skills. As policy impact teachers themselves, Instructors will be able to scale policy impact methodologies beyond the Hub’s team and enable STEM and social justice professionals to implement policy change.
