Awad Abdelhalim

Awad Abdelhalim is a senior researcher with the Transit Lab and Urban Mobility Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He earned a B.Sc. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Khartoum, Sudan, before joining Virginia Tech where he received an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Transportation Infrastructure and Systems Engineering, alongside an NSF graduate certificate in Urban Computing. When he’s not working on leveraging technology to solve transportation challenges, Awad can be found playing sports, watching sports, or on long walks featuring his new favorite podcast.
