About Janice

Janice Mak is the Assistant Director of Curriculum and Pedagogy at Arizona State University’s Learning Engineering Institute, focusing on computer science education, policy, and systems change. She has served on boards like the Arizona State Board of Education and chaired the Arizona Department of Education’s technology task force on digital equity. Janice has received the NSF CAREER, Presidential Award, ISTE awards, and NCWIT Educator award for her work in inclusive education. She holds a Ph.D. from Texas Tech University, M.Ed. from George Mason, and a B.A. in Linguistics from Rutgers. She enjoys hiking in the Sonoran Desert.
