About Desiree

Desiree Junfijiah is an independent researcher on AI policy, governance, and digital literacy. She has a degree in computer science and has worked on AI safety initiatives focused on mitigating catastrophic AI-related risks through alignment research. She has also worked on policy initiatives that have included state-level generative AI governance and AI security research. She is drawn to bridging the gap between technical AI safety and policymaking and focusing on the intersection of AI development and social responsibility. Desiree is currently continuing her research while she serves as a partnership coordinator on the Paragon Fellowship board. In her spare time, she enjoys playing chess and oil painting.
