About Ananthi

Ananthi Al Ramiah has recently made a career pivot, and is currently a Lead Policy Researcher on the AISC project ‘Building the Pause Button: A Proposal for Compute Governance’ and a fresh voice on Substack, where she explores the crossroads of AI and social psychology. A former Director of Research at Wake Forest University’s Program for Leadership & Character, she also founded Dataluminescence Research, tackling social cohesion and extremism. A Rhodes Scholar, she earned her Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Oxford. Ananthi is originally from Malaysia, and now lives in the US. She thrives on deep conversations, unexpected connections, and the art of making complex ideas resonate.
