Since founding the Aspen Tech Policy Hub in 2019, we have:
- Trained more than 550 changemakers through programs like the Science and Technology Policy Fellowship and the Policy Impact for Emerging Climate Leaders short course.
- Empowered alums to impact policy by releasing a data privacy app, helping Utah set new targets for data centers’ water use, making it easier for US citizens living abroad to vote, advocating for legal accountability for tech giants, and more.
- Been featured by the media more than 700 times, including in The Atlantic, STAT, The New York Times, and The San Francisco Chronicle.
- Supported our alumni who have secured vital policy roles, from Ivy Teng Lei becoming California’s Chief Digital Strategy Officer to Lana Ramjit creating the National Resource Center for Cybercrimes at AEquitas.
- Published numerous resources on important policy topics such as education technology, data brokers, and skills for new government hires.
- Strengthened our alumni network through in-person events, career mentorship, and connecting alums with policy impact opportunities.
- Channeled more than $1.5 million through our programs to support fellows.
- Launched 11 new programs as the Aspen Policy Academy, including public training webinars on topics like Writing a Public Comment, State and Local Government Advocacy, and Policy 101.
- Grew the Academy team to 7 full-time employees!
