Aspen Policy Academy

Helping Everyone Get Involved In Policymaking

The people best-positioned to impact policy are the ones closest to the challenges the policies address. The Academy equips community leaders, local advocates, and ordinary citizens with the right tools to contribute to key decisions that affect the direction of our society. We welcome new voices into the policy conversation and help them translate their experiences into effective policy action.

These skills have never been more important than now, as we approach the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Government trust is at an inflection point: Only 22% of US adults trust the federal government “to do the right thing just about always or most of the time.” This is the perfect moment to learn how to tell your government – from your town council to your congressperson – what you think and impact policy that matters to you.

Because of the How to Tell Governments What You Think webinar, I feel empowered to talk to my government and advocate for change in my community.

Participating in the Policy Primer program was truly transformative. At a time when I was navigating a career transition, it gave me the clarity, tools, and confidence to connect the dots between design, policy, and action.

I took a (free!) workshop on policy yesterday through the Aspen Policy Academy, and it was a solid reminder that we don’t have to stay passive. Even if you feel small, you can affect change. Check them out!
