About Kate

Kate Fisher is a human-centered service designer with over 12 years of experience building accessible, digital-first federal government programs and services. Previously, Kate led service improvements at the State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs, supported White House cross-agency initiatives focused on key life events, and helped design and implement the IRS Direct File pilot while at 18F and the Lab at OPM. Kate holds graduate degrees from The New School and Hunter College, and a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College Chicago. Fun fact: she is a certified NYC history guide.
