About Carolina

Carolina Ramôa, PhD, is a neuroscientist with experience in national and international regulatory health science and clinical and pre-clinical (rodent) pharmacology. Dr. Ramôa completed her MS and PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Virginia. She then went on to Virginia Commonwealth University for her postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology. During this fellowship, she also worked at the World Health Organization (WHO) in the Tobacco Free Initiative. She currently works for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the Center for Tobacco Products as a supervisory Pharmacologist. In this position, she leads a team of 7 PhD-level scientists in evaluating high-market-share tobacco products through product application review and research, contributing to market orders and regulatory policy decisions.
