Nicole Jain Capizzi
Nicole Jain Capizzi is an agricultural specialist, most recently completing a decade as Senior Organic Inspector at the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Her focus has shifted to carbon dioxide removal, carbon markets, and ecosystem services accounting to ensure the viability of sustainable and regenerative agriculture. Before enforcing agricultural policy, she was founding director of youth education programs at Prairie Crossing Farm, later starting and managing three diversified, direct market farms. Nicole has a BA from the University of Washington and began farming as an apprentice at the Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems at the University of California Santa Cruz. In her free time, Nicole cross country skis and races cyclocross with her family in the Pacific Northwest.
