  • Article Published January 10, 2025

We’re thrilled to announce that the application is open for the summer 2025 Science and Technology Policy Fellowship. The Fellowship will teach science and technology experts how to impact policy through practical training and real-world experience.

Important information and dates:

  • The Fellowship will run full-time, in-person in San Francisco from June 3-27
  • Applications are due at 11:59pm PT on Tuesday, February 18
  • Applicants must be 21 or older, be based in the US, and have science, climate, or tech expertise
  • Fellows will receive a $7,500 base stipend with an additional $5,000 for those participating in the remote policy project phase

The Fellowship will consist of two blocks: 1) a mandatory, in-person, full-time, immersive policy bootcamp that teaches participants the basics of policymaking and 2) an optional final project. The policy bootcamp will take place from June 3-27, 2025, in San Francisco. Fellows will have the option to work remotely part-time on a final project from June 30-August 25, 2025. You can view past fellows’ projects here.

Any US-based science and technology professional can apply, but this year, we will prioritize admitting those who work in one of three priority areas: emerging technology, cybersecurity, and climate.

Academy staff will host informational webinars on January 22 and February 4.
